Why Use Different Lights in Different Rooms?

5 September 2010 426 views No Comment

The lighting within the home is really important. Not only does it provide a purpose, but it also helps to enhance the look of a room. There are various different types of lighting and it can be a great idea to use more than one type. It is a particularly good idea to use a different type of lighting for each room.

When thinking about the kitchen for example, a chandelier could go really well. Chandeliers give an elegant look and they are often used in dining rooms. The Minka Lavery 12 Light Chandelier can be an excellent choice if you are looking to create an elegant, old fashioned theme. Spotlights can also be placed under cabinets to give a bold, modern style.

In the living room you should make use of floor lamps and even recessed lighting. The latter is another modern style of lighting that often enhances the look of a home. So many people choose one light in the middle of the ceiling, but recessed lighting adds atmosphere to the room. If you do purchase a floor lamp with the intention of using it as a reading lamp then ensure that it is situated at shoulder height.

The bathroom could benefit from wall lights. Placing two or more wall lights around the room gives a cozy and slightly romantic feel to the room. The bathroom is a place where you want to relax. It could be a good idea to add a dimmer switch to the lighting to better control the mood.

As you can see, it is possible to put different types of lighting in the different rooms in your home. Take a look at the different possibilities available at American Home Plus. Always take your time to choose the right lighting to suit the theme of the room.
